International Shipping Regulations
ISPM-15 Requirements
The International Standards for Phytosanitary Measures No. 15 (ISPM-15) governs wood packaging materials in international trade.
Treatment Requirements
- Heat Treatment (HT): Core temperature of wood must reach at least 56°C for a minimum of 30 minutes
- Methyl Bromide Fumigation: Alternative chemical treatment (being phased out in many regions)
- Dielectric Heating (DH): For wood packaging not exceeding 20 cm
Marking Requirements
All ISPM-15 compliant pallets must bear the following marks:
- IPPC symbol
- Country code (XX)
- Producer/treatment provider code (00000)
- Treatment code (HT, MB, or DH)
