Calculator Features
This calculator provides:
- Dimensional Analysis: Calculate surface area and volume to understand space utilization
- Load Analysis: Determine load density and ratio to recommended maximum
- Strength Assessment: Evaluate deck board strength based on thickness and dimensions
- Type Recommendations: Get suggestions for the most appropriate pallet type (stringer, block, or nestable)
- Entry Recommendations: Receive guidance on whether a 2-way or 4-way entry design is more suitable
- Customization Options: Adjust your selection to compare different pallet types and configurations
The 4-way entry option allows forklifts to access the pallet from all four sides, which is particularly valuable for heavy or large loads that may need to be accessed from different orientations. Block pallets inherently provide 4-way entry, while stringer pallets require notches to achieve this functionality.
How to Use the Calculator
- Enter the required dimensions (length, width, and height) in millimeters
- Specify the maximum load weight in kilograms
- Set the deck board thickness in millimeters
- Select the pallet type (stringer, block, or nestable)
- If you select "stringer" type, you can choose whether to use notched stringers for 4-way entry
- Review the calculated specifications and recommendations
The calculator will automatically adjust recommendations based on your inputs, highlighting potential issues such as load capacities approaching or exceeding recommended limits.
